With the accidental adventure that I did from the previous post, I tried to do something else and ask myself what can I do to make this monoprint more presentable?
As I wish that this discovery can make something else for my personal artistic development for example making prints for exhibiting, for collectors to buy or even just to make myself more productive and diversify my portfolio.
I would doubt if anyone would like to collect a print from a tissue paper or a napkin?
If I were the great masters from the past like Picasso, Matisse, Andy Warhol or Rembrandt, there’s no doubt you would like to collect my artwork / print from a napkin, but I am just an ordinary person who is still discovering my arty path.
So, I came up with the idea of using Chinese rice paper, as this is what came in my mind as a thin paper that I think would fit the job and replace the use of a napkin.
I am going to explain my procedures step by step.
No need to care about the details, as it will look different once water is added to activate the magic!
Put in mind that everything that has water will transfer to other medium (rice paper).
Basically the Chinese rice paper is put on top of the plate (the original painting) and use fingers to press slightly to transfer the ink to the rice paper.
It is normal that the print is reversed.
Try it yourself and have fun!
