Few days ago while I was watching on some online drawing and painting instructions by Carla Sonheim on her youtube channel about her Bunny Painting Demo .
Then I tried to use the same technique to produce something similar, not a bunny, but an elephant.
I would like to express my regret that I didn’t do a proper recording of my procedure, because I didn’t expect something nice has happened.
This is my drawn elephant (drawing at the right) and the whole adventure starts from here. What I did was just draw the outlines of the elephant then use a wet brush to paint the outline ink from outside to the inside of the body. The washy paint spreads throughout whole body.
Because this was just an experiment, accidentally I spread too much water on my drawing and needed to use a napkin to soak up the excess water. Then the magic came after that!
The excess water transferred to the napkin and created a nicely unexpected and unpredictable print!
If you want to know more about Carla Sonheim and her fun and creative works, I recommend this book for you.
