While surfing and browsing youtube, I found a video about how to paint flowers in watercolour and the title of the video is “the easiest flowers i’ve ever painted!” by CreationsCeeCee. Isn’t this title attractive and looks like a magic hand waving at you to take a look of the video?
Watercolour is not my forte, but I am passionate to learn and to improve my “arty” skill, and the video is short, I won’t loose anything just spending less than 15mins.
I am going to show you my process, I try to follow the steps, but for some reasons, really some unanswerable reasons, I injected some of my thoughts, techniques, aesthetic beauty and personal touch to it. But the core nature of the instruction is there.
I painted 2 watercolours, one by following the steps and the other one with some advance and confident strokes.
Below are the try-out of my paintings and the procedures are recorded from the 2nd watercolour, as I forgot to take photos for the first one.

As I don’t have a proper watercolour set, I used the ones from my 6 years old daughter. As you can see, its already worn-out, but this doesn’t matter, its just a start of the learning process.

CeeCee (the artist) from the video taught the first step is to mark 3 dots on the paper. This is so inspired!

Pull the dots and spread the paint to form the shape of the petals.

Repeat the same process and draw another flower.

Repeat the same process and change another colour to make some difference. Don’t forget to think about the composition before marking the dot.

Choose some dark colour or black and dot the stamen or center of the flower. Then draw the stem with green or any other colour of your choice.

I don’t have white opaque ink, so I used a correction pen instead as a replacement.

The result turns more or less as expected, you probably can’t see the difference.

Last bits is add some golden dots around the painting as decoration.

Something I didn’t expect is that the golden ink that I used is so opaque and pigmented that after dried it end up with some 3D / emboss effect.

I used a toothpick to drop the golden dots.

Here I also wanted to mention a quote by CeeCee from other of her video (9:50) about what she thinks of using gold that I also agreed with her.
No painting it is ever completed and until you add gold.

Finally I taught my 6 years old daughter this technique and she really did well with her cute painting.

Finally you can purchase this painting in my Etsy Store or treat me a “virtual coffee” at my Ko-Fi page.
Thank you,
Liastone.
