The trend of writing beautifully by hand is not only for the adults, it is now for kids too.
Amy Latta is an artist, a teacher and an author of 2 books about lettering and the 3rd one has just came out and you can get it from @ Book Depository
The book that I am going to review is her 2nd book “Express Yourself : A Hand Lettering Workbook for Kids”.
Its big, I mean physically the size is ok for adults hand, but for kids, its a bit big and heavy for them. It measures 227 x 242 x 14mm and weights 691g (ipad pro weights 677g) with 160 pages.
This is the perfect gift for budding artists, writers and doodlers, or any kid who is inspired by all the amazing hand lettering they see online.

The cover design was hand written by Amy herself because of the raw and manually effect. The print quality was so good that its not easy to differ if it was hand written or machine printed.
There’s a diverse topic for the kids or teenagers to explore, its specifically for them (of course, for adults too). From faux calligraphy to drawing of donuts, yes its donuts, and this is what I appreciate most from the book because it incorporates some and easy cute illustrations to make the whole lettering process funnier.
There’s so many things that we can learn and try by ourselves, the above page is all about fancy flourishes that is one of the basic design element to enrich the lettering design or the illustration.
If you buy the book from my links @bookdepository, I can receive a little commission that helps me to buy more books to review.
