A while ago, I mean, quite few months ago, I cannot really remember from when, probably 3 months ago I was in love of an artist that was very active in Germany during the beginning of the 19th Century Paul Klee.
He was an German artist born in Switzerland and explain in short, he was one of the master teaching at Bauhaus from 1920-1931 together with other well known artist of the time, Water Gropius (director of the Bauhaus) Wassily Kandinsky (close friend), Lyonel Feininger, Theo van Doesburg and many others.
In my opinion he was a multi-style artist and painter, his works were influenced by a range of different artistic movements from Cubism, Post Impressionism, Constructivism, Surrealism to Expressionism and also a bit of “childish” and “immature” sense of visual representation.
With so many styles in one body, he considered himself as one style!
This multi-style intrigued my interest to learn more about him, I tried to find and read as much information / material about his way of creating masterworks and decided to create a painting based on his influences and philosophies.
I used one of his techniques that he has developed, the oil-transfer. This technique as its name suggests, is transferring oil paint from one surface to another.
In my example, I will give you an humble instruction how did I make my version of oil-transfer painting.
